This design of this high school is part of a larger academic campus plan for North Plymouth. Map Academy is a charter school that serves underprivileged and struggling young adults and provides them an opportunity to earn their general education degree through the use of alternate learning and teaching strategies.
The proposed building will be a new construction project that will be the first facility dedicated to this unique education typology. Integral to the design is user experience between students and faculty along with the relationship between the building to the site to ensure sustainable building practices in an ecologically sensitive region. Energy efficiency and building performance standards are also integrated in the design with a goal of achieving Net Zero energy standards for the new charter high school building.
