A difficult addition renovation to a beautifully detailed Arts and Crafts home that was cramped, badly connected to the site and very dark on the interior. The goal was to integrate new, larger spaces and windows while adhering to the strong historic and design character of the existing building. The detailing and project specific details add charm and continuity, while the layout and windows dramatically change the character of the plan and the quality of the interior spaces and light. The new patio is an extension of the family Room and kitchen and functions as an outdoor room that connects to home to the gardens and yard.
